I haven’t written anything ‘light’ since, like, forever, mainly because I’m sick of reading shallow articles all over the internet and have dedicated this blog only to the things that make a difference.
However, this morning I woke up and felt like writing something simple that could pimp the shit out of your blog and shoot it on page one of Google.
First, I’m gonna have to tell you how Google works, or maybe the article would turn into a mess if I did (would have to debunk a lot of myths, and I’ll leave that to the mythbusters LOL).
I’ll just skip it, if you want to know that bad, enter your email in the form to your right and I’ll tell you what I mean when I have time.
In short – Google ranks famous sites (mostly running adsense) for the tough keywords on page one, it doesn’t matter how many links you build, or what algorithms you abide if you don’t have an authoritative site.
let me tell you 5 simple optimization hacks to pimp your site instead
1 Make your site fly
You have two options
1 Take care of the HTTP requests and page size, and .htaccess files and a ton of other boring crap that can make you turn off your computer and run away as fast as possible
2 Host your site with Wp Engine and let them take care of all that shit
Smart people choose the second option and concentrate on selling, but you can do it yourself if you want.
I’m not going to go that deep and explain how to do it in this article, though… you can install W3 total cache and play with the options, and you have to enable gzip compressing from your server’s cpanel.
Contact me if you need help and my tech guy will hook you up with a tutorial (won’t be that expensive).
I advise you to just host your site with Wp Engine, you will save a lot of headaches and time… however, I know you will probably be like:
“screw this, Imma do it myself” LOL
I know, cause most people think like that and never actually make serious money, hoping you are not (won’t be) one of them.
Look, I’m telling it like that cause I’ve done all this, I’ve spent years doing useless crap and I can tell you it’s no fun, I want to save you all the stress, but you are free to make the choice.
Read this article if you still want to optimize your site yourself:
I’ve written possibly everything you need to know about SEO from page optimization to link building, I know you might think SEO is difficult, but in reality it’s dead easy, making money is difficult, not SEO… as a matter of fact, one of the most popular articles on the blog is:
3 Write short kinda unfinished articles with optin forms at the end
Long articles are good for the search engines and time spent on your site, right?
While not that sure about that (I don’t like them, cause the important things in life are simple), short unfinished articles with optin forms at the end are the best for lead generation.
Ok, I don’t really know if they are the best, but they are great.
Some people like long articles with content upgrades (content upgrades are additional information giveaways, you get people to download them or send them to their emails and such), but they are way too much work for the same result.
I like to write about 1,000 word articles and make them the most fun to read around the end, and then stop without a conclusion or anything… just like your favorite TV show, you watch episode 2 and at the end you already can’t wait for 3…
…just like this article, the more you read, the more interesting it gets and by the end you will enter your email to see what else I got for you, or maybe I can just ask you to enter your email to see the 5th optimization hack which will be the most extraordinary of all.
4 Hire me as a speaker banner
You don’t even have to be a speaker… just place a ‘hire me to speak’ banner in your sidebar and you will automatically get more likes, leads, or whatever you are after, since people will recognize you as an authority… and if people contact you to speak, ask some ridiculous price and you are good to go.
Do I like that?
Heck no, but it’s high level marketing and people use such tactics to sell more (don’t tell me you think everybody with such a banner is a speaker), and so can you, you are going to have to learn to bend the truth a little (or more) if you want to become a good marketer anyway.
5 ‘About the author’ sidebar section
But don’t just write the regular boring: “the author of this blog has done this and that and bla bla bla”
Make it something cool, something people have not seen, then it will make people want to connect with you.
And I also have a number 6, I might send it to your email (if you use the form down below).
Thanks for reading, you are now a better marketer than 78% of all marketers online, after you subscribe you’ll be better than 99%.
Stay AWESOME my friend.
