What do I mean?
You know how in the past it was all about getting the most backlinks…
…all about Facebook pages and social marketing.
They are still important, but nothing to lose sleep over.
Design is the new marketing.
It has to be simple and perfect.
People no longer visit ugly sites… and when they do, they don’t stay for long.
Ever since I changed the design of my optin form you see to your right, I get twice as many leads… and the change I made was simply removing the border line.
You might say:
But yeah, that’s right, I started getting 50% more leads since that simple change.
You see, when everybody starts putting up sites to make money online, as what the situation is right now, the game changes.
Those sites with all the right components at the right places win.
The rest don’t get leads, neither make money.
Take my blog for example.
I don’t get crazy traffic, well, it’s not that bad either – 100,000 hits/month, but I make more money than people with twice my traffic.
How do I do that?
1 I use the simplest, fastest and best coded theme online – Genesis.
You are free to code your own look if you have the time, yet I’d rather use something made from the best, and then adjust it to my needs.
People pay thousands for the look my blog has.
All it cost me was 100 bucks for the Genesis framework and builder, and $1,000 for optimization.
If you want a site that makes you money, you have to make it fast and user friendly, and by user friendly I mean simple.
You also need to place the right optin forms at the right places.

3 I paid to optimize the site for speed
Speed is pretty important, if you don’t have the knowledge to optimize your site, you can use WPengine, they do all the tech stuff for you.
4 I blog a lot and structure my posts the best way for most reading
You’d think blogging is all about value… most people do think that, but it’s not.
What is it about?
You guessed it – design.
No one reads huge ugly looking blocks of text.
Take a look at my posts.
I leave a lot of white space, the text is easy on the eye, and the right size (16px, anything up to about 18 is fine, above that – not so much), the layout is pretty awesome with no distractions whatsoever, it’s just a pleasure to read.
Have you thought about these things?
If not, do… they are the little tweaks that will take your blog to the next level.
