Hey, what’s going on?
I wanted to write this blog post for two reasons, actually three, even though I’ve talked about email follow up sequence before… and I’ve talked a lot
1 I want you to make gobs of money
2 Email follow up sequence is an awesome keyword, I’d like to push this article to page one of Google… and I want to push it mainly because there is a lot of misinformation on this subject.
Like for example, I’ve seen people advise to send one welcome email (once someone gets on your list) and then after two days, one hour and exactly 5 minutes a new email… and then after one more week – another email LOL.
A guy actually did advise that in a forum (back in the day when I still checked the forums every once in a while, I don’t do it anymore and you can see why).
People try all sorts of weird sequences to not annoy their subscribers.
That’s all bullshit.
You don’t have to care about unsubscribes that much (I’ll get there in a sec), you have to care about your subscribers (think about it for a sec), and you have to email as often as it takes to make the sale(s).
3 I got an email yesterday that got me thinking, this is the email:
“This lead has unsubscribed by following the link at the bottom of one
of your AWeber messages, and decided to provide comments.
Email: (can’t share this and don’t want to)
List Name: wealthmagnate
Signup Date: 04/20/15 10:11 PM Eastern
“You send too many newsletters”
Since I care about my subscribers a lot (unlike most marketers, maybe cause I’m more of an entrepreneur), I actually read those comments and try to change what is needed to make people feel awesome around me… which is actually why I give away such priceless training (use the form to your right if you haven’t already and you will see what I’m talking about, leave me a comment if you don’t like anything after, I care about you).
I only send awesome training emails each day for 10 days (to that list, it’s closed for new people now, use the form to your right and I’ll let you know when I reopen it), emails people subscribed for, training I usually sell, I also broadcast whenever I fee like it.
Why change anything?
Anyway, I had to check everything one more time out of respect for my subs.
Then I checked that person too, can you guess what I noticed?
They had been subscribed for a week before complaining about getting too many newsletters. They had also opened each email, but had not clicked any link.
When a person on your list stays for 7 days and then sends you this crap, they actually say (and think no one will notice):
“I’m a struggling wuss who wants everything for free, I was waiting for a download link to just get anything for free, whatever it is, and since it never came, and even though the training is a free follow up email sequence, I will create some ridiculous reason to unsubscribe to not get asked to buy, a reason that covers my wussyness and makes me feel good for being broke and scared to take action for a while”
That’s what they actually say and I’m sharing this to let you know you don’t have to care about unsubscribes that much.
Those who are scared to buy and/or have been struggling to make money forever (possibly because of that) will go sooner or later, better be sooner.
So what should your email follow up sequence be?
It should be whatever you want it to be…. wait for it.
If you want to sell, which should be always, you should send emails daily, again – for as long as it takes to make the sale.
Might sound a bit too much right now, but it really is not… and you will get me better when you start making sales via email.
You might ask:
Won’t that get people angry and make them unsubscribe?
…and the answer is:
you should not care about unsubscribes hat much as I already said up there, and this is why I gave you that example to understand better wussies unsubscribe sooner or later anyway, better make it sooner…
…not that I’m saying everybody who goes is a wuss, some people just go different ways, or whatever… you don’t need them either though.
If you know how to write entertaining emails (which you will learn after you enter your email in the form to your right) and want to sell, you will be fine. People usually unsubscribe when they get bored.
You might also ask:
What If I just want to send my new blog posts to my list?
If you blog just for fun, then you can send emails once a year if you want to, it won’t make much of a difference, if you want to make money, send email as often as it takes to make the sale (I should really patent that saying).
I know those people with the weird sequence schemes:
day one: send welcome email
day three: try to send an email
day 12: send a non promotional email
day 20: say hi
day 23: promote something, but be careful
bla bla bla
…they don’t know what they are doing at all, run away from such people as fast as you can, they don’t know how to make money.
Thanks for reading, it’s a beautiful day and I’m thinking of taking my laptop and working outside for an hour, maybe two. 🙂
That’s what life is when you know how often to send mails, good you just read this post.
let me know if you liked it and stay AWESOME!
