Facebook is what Google used to be – delivers cheap traffic that converts almost perfectly when you know your marketing.
Before we get to how to build a list on Facebook, you better read this article first to understand how to get dirt cheap clicks there.
Although you can get a ton of free traffic from the social network, it’s naive to believe you can build a list all for free.
You are going to need some budget to run news feed ads, promoted posts and the like… nothing to worry about though, after you are done with the cheap PPC article you will know how to get 2-3 cent clicks all day long, you can lower the price even more after you get good at it.
Here’s how to build a list on Facebook:
1 You need a tool for converting that traffic into leads.
I’ve been using almost everything that is on the market and have found the Thrive leads plugin (that’s an affiliate link, if you buy, I get a commission which doesn’t change the price in any way) to be the best.
Not only is it the best, but it’s so cheap ($67) I still can’t believe it. It has so many features and is so well made I would charge at least $500 for it if it was mine.
You can use it to display sticky ribbons, you can use it to display lightbox popups, exit popups, sliding panels, header bars , footer bars, special popups (you know, the ones you have to click to open), side bar optin forms, in post optin forms (in-line forms), build squeeze pages (the kind I used to pay thousands for), 2 step optin forms, screen filler overlay, content lock, scroll mat…
Know what? just go see it in action
I’m telling you, I have not seen anything that awesome for $67 bucks. All the forms you see on my site cost me thousands… this tool changes everything though.
Why am I concentrating that much on the tool?
Because nowadays you need only the best to collect leads. Email marketing has reached the level you can’t just send traffic to whatever page and hope for the best.
Believe me, traffic is not the difficult part, converting it into leads is what you should concentrate on.
Alright, let’s move on.
2 CPC VS CPM
I personally prefer paying for 1,000 impressions since I already know how to optimize my ads, how to target people, what pages to send them to and basically the moment people see my ad, they always click it.
However, paying for clicks is not bad at all, it might cost you a bit more (might not), yet you will definitely get a ton of traffic for cheap.
Paying for impressions is usually the better option when getting page likes.
If you direct link to your lead page, you might wanna pay per click. You have to test and see what works best for you though.
3 Free traffic
You can get a ton of free traffic from Facebook if you pick the right niche for the purpose.
Pages about bunnies, dogs, cats, t-shirts, or anything easy to be liked, get a ton of easy likes, shares etc.
Pages about marketing and business in general are not that easy and you will need to spend some cash to build them.
You can use your profile as well, if you don’t have a page, or a group, or want to start getting traffic right away.
here’s how to do it:

People use Facebook to waste time mostly (it’s a social network), give them something cool to waste their time with and they will like and share your thing.
4 Comment Bait For List building
This is one awesome strategy that can get you a lot of leads and works like this:
You ask a simple (nothing that will make people think too much) question like:
“where are you from”
“what’s your dog’s name”
“A or B, vote below”
“who’s your favorite player”
and then when they start answering you go like this:
“Thanks for your feedback, as a way of thanks we wanted to invite you to our free giveaway (link to your giveaway page)…”
and you will get a ton of emails… and after that, share who the winner is on your wall, this way the next time you do that you will get even more leads.
Retargeting is something I pay a lot of money for (I’m talking $2,000 bucks a month and more), yet it’s worth it.
For those who don’t know what it is, that’s marketing to people who were just about to buy from you (or give you their email) but changed their mind the last minute.
You have two options here:
Search Google and pick one of the companies that provide that service (I’ll say it again though, it’s pretty expensive to go this way), or use FB Retargeter – that’s a tool a guy I wasn’t that impressed with at first made…
…after using his tool though I can say he’s cool, and it costs $37 dollars only.
Fb retargeter is no longer available, I guess I wasn’t wrong about the buy, he’s an idiot.
If you are on a tight budget though, retargeting can wait.
Concentrate on the rest and once you start earning cash, you will include this to your marketing and get even better results.
That’s basically how to build a list on facebook… you can get as many leads as you wish and all you have to do is tool up and do what you just read.
