Ahhhh yes, traffic.
Although converting traffic into sales is what I believe to be the more complicated part of business, I will tell you to get from 0 to a 1000 visitors in a month like it’s a game and then I’ll send you to an article how to convert that traffic… and live on the beach (or wherever you like to live).
All the methods are free, yet quite time-consuming too… and some even boring… but you have to know you either invest time, or money to get an online business going.
If you are on a tight budget, you should continue reading.
The first thing you should do is to set up your blog.
Whether you are building a site, or a blog, or just want to market your awesome software, you need a content marketing platform.
It has to be attractive, no exceptions.
Time has passed when you could build any blog and get people to follow and like it. Now you need an awesome logo, fast loading pages and a proper, nice, simple and user-friendly theme.
Your blog should have an optin form (and most times it would need more than one), a popup too, you can go to this page to see what I use.
After you set it nicely, you should write 3-10 pieces of brilliant content per week.
The quantity is not that important at first, since you won’t have too many people reading it. The quality though should be ridiculously awesome.
The main purpose of your content is to build a community and trust.
You can not just launch a blog and hope to start making money right away from it. You have to put some time and effort into creating awesome material for people to enjoy and come visit you again for.
Step two: Social media traffic building, not SEO
SEO is the worst option to go with when getting started.
With little authority it will be close to impossible to rank, and even if you manage to get to the first page of Google, you will waste countless hours working to do it.
This is why you should start with social media, and more specifically – guest posting.
Guest posting is huge and possibly the most efficient way to get visitors to your blog for free. Not only this, but you will build contextual backlinks, which are gold for SEO.
Write about once a week for your own blog, and as often as you can on guest blogs.
The best way to hit 1000 visitors in 30 days isn’t SEO, Facebook pages or Twitter followers, it’s reaching out to as many bloggers in your niche as possible and building relationships with those people (something I still haven’t found time to do that much… but I have money and don’t give a fuck)
At first you will get many rejections, but it’s ok… just continue asking bloggers in your niche to write for them. Once you have some work done, even famous bloggers will start letting you publish for them.
Along with guest posting you should also do some forum marketing.
I personally don’t like it, but you will be amazed how much traffic you could get from forums. Just log in once in a while and post some value there. If you don’t know that much about the forum topic though, skip this method.
You should really have knowledge to make forums work for you.
Here’s what you need to become popular on Facebook in a week:
1,000 visitors are not that many, believe me, might sound a lot right now, but you will get them fast… and even faster if you also include some conventional methods like building links, blog commenting, document sharing sites and of course publishing some press releases.
What you need to concentrate more on though, is converting that traffic into leads for which of course I have prepared the perfect article as well, here it is:
