Just updated this as I noticed the article was getting some mad traffic, and I’m thinking about writing a sequel, will come back to link to it if I don’t forget, or you can enter your email in the form to your right to make sure you get all the other cool posts too…
Did not forget, here’s the link to the sequel that will show you to rank with no links, you still better use the form to your right though, cause I’ll show you much more coolness I do online.
Ready for these badass SEO facts?
Cool, Let’s get started then.
SEO is no piece of cake any more… you can’t just run a backlinking software, get a few links and rank.
Although Google’s algorithms change all the time (mainly to fight spam), it’s still a search engine that follows simple rules to find websites relevant to search. Those rules have always been the same… it’s just that lately Google have become better at applying them.
The SEO facts listed down below will change the game for you and help you rank any article you want.
Seo fact 1: It’s all about diversification
This is not 2005 when you could simply buy an exact match domain, get a few backlinks and rank on page one.
You and me both know this was wrong, and there was no way Google would leave some 5-year-old kid who didn’t know anything for the term they ranked, but was there just because of the backlinks, stay on page one for too long.
Now you need authority… exact match domains are worthless, backlinks to a shitty site are not only worthless, but will get it in trouble.
What you need to rank are diversified backlinks to an authority domain, at least a PR2 (yes, pr is still a factor). If you just register a blog, you can not expect it to rank for about a year (might take less). And since you don’t want to wait a year, the better choice is to buy a high PR domain, You can get one for about 200 bucks.
It’s not just the page rank though, you need people to like and share what you have, which happens if you have awesome content.
Authority is the name of the game, and it’s about to be like that for a while.
SEO fact number 2: Awesome content rules all
The internet is built around content… read that again. Everything online boils down to incredibly interesting content.
When you publish articles and videos that actually mean something, you do not have to care about Google’s animal algorithms that much. You still have to be careful with the backlinks though… even if you get 10,000 likes and shares, if you blast a million forum links to your article, or video, you will get in trouble.
So what if there are millions of blogs?
You can still publish your way and attract the right people who look for that exact unique style of yours.
Forget people who talk about everything being said online. These guys make 5 bucks and don’t know what they are talking about.
Seo Fact number 3: The more backlinks, the better… that’s right.
Backlinks are still, and will be for a long time, the name of the game, so you need lots of them to rank on the first page of Google.
Search engines count links, this is how they work. However, what you should know is they get better and better at recognizing good, bad and valuable backlinks.
They also recognize better what those backlinks point to.
You can not expect to get 10,000 backlinks to a five word PLR article and expect it to be on page one… no, this was in the past when there was not so much junk online and Google did not have to be that good at selecting value.
Get lots of backlinks from everywhere. If you don’t know how to do it, read the full SEO promotion process that very few people know.
Seo fact number 4: On-page SEO is not everything
It’s not about H tags, or ALT tags, or very precise keyword density… it’s about humanized content. This means content that makes sense, that helps people and entertains them.
You still have to show the search engine what you write about, here’s how, but you don’t have to go crazy about it.
Write entertaining content before all.
If I were you, I’d tattoo these SEO facts on my chest LOL… kidding, not on my chest, but on my forehead. 🙂
Let me know if you liked this article… and stay awesome!
