Social media is huge.
You knew that? LOL
No seriously, you can use these social media marketing ideas to get boat loads of traffic… and sales.
Social media is now what blogs were before Facebook. People used to hang out on popular blogs (and they still do, but way less), now they hang out on Facebook…
I won’t feed you the same old:
“create pages, create groups, use social signals, get people to like your stuff”
…and basic shit like this. I will dip right into the essence of social media marketing – popularity!
Popularity is the name of the game on social media… nothing else matters. If you are nobody, it won’t matter that much what you talk about, or post, or offer people, or how many pages or groups you have…
…on the other hand if you are popular, people will listen even if you talk stupid shit, don’t blame me, that’s the world we live in – people listen to whoever knows how to market themselves.
It’s not that difficult to become famous, you just have to follow the right formula… pretending and faking will not do the job, neither will constantly chasing people and posting sales pitches all over the place, I’ll tell you what will do it, but first let me ask you:
“Are you thinking: 5,000 Facebook friends will do the job for me?”
it’s not about how many friends you have, but how many fans.. if you get what I’m saying.
It’s the same as email marketing – it’s not about volume, but about quality.
10 loyal friends can make you more money than 5,000 who are there just to see what’s what… this is why I don’t accept random people, most just want to be friends with the popular, I don’t mind that, but i don’t need a million dumb food pics on my wall.
How to make those loyal friends
Well first of all you should know your target market and what they like.
My target market is the smart and entrepreneurial, they don’t use Facebook that much, they like reading, which is why I wrote this book.
Since you are going to target time killers (they use Facebook and social media in general), you have to post uplifting shit… those types like to be motivated.
I should have probably posted it first – carefully choose your social environment. Your Facebook wall is a mirror of your social environment… if you live in the ghetto, it will show (sorry, that’s the pure truth) and you most likely won’t have too great social media marketing results.
The first step to riches is to surround yourself with people better than you.
Build a rockstar social profile.
I’m not a huge fan of faking, but if you are not that rich and have nothing that impressive to post, you can color things up a bit.
How do you think most marketers promote?
All of them do it – post huge rented houses, cars and such…
…just don’t go crazy, It’s really funny when I visit somebody’s profile and I see:
“life-coach, expert, seven-figure earner, super duper hyper mega giga marketer” and 10 more titles like that.
Marketing and faking are not exactly the same things. You should find the line and stick near it… if you are nothing close to owning a Ferrari, don’t post Ferraris, maybe something less flashy… I think you get the idea.
Be yourself and build a nice and simple profile. Post a lot of uplifting pictures and videos instead of writing you are the best life coach alive or stupid stuff like that.
And now some technical next level marketing not a lot of people do that’s still a good idea for social media traffic
Build some links to your social profiles… you want people to find you or your page, shoot links and rank them in the engines, you don’t have to worry about penalties since social sites don’t get penalized.
