I’ve been reading a lot of articles stating relevancy was the new page rank and decided to talk about it as well as add some new school seo methods in this article. It’s no secret SEO changes almost by the minute and we have to constantly keep track of what works and what doesn’t to be at the top of search.
I personally don’t do a lot of optimization and try to leave it all to my business associates, yet I try to be as informed as possible about Google and the whole optimization game. You know, you just can’t be online and not know how to optimize your pages to rank… it’s vital to know SEO whether you like it or not.
Although you have to take link building into your own hands and manufacture your own link profile you can still get lots of backlinks, shares and likes on autopilot by doing all the cool stuff you are about to read. Social signals are kinda extremely important since both Google and Bing use data from social sites to rank pages.
As you already read relevancy is the new page rank, what that means is if you link back to your page from another page that is relevant to yours, you will get a far more valuable backlink as if you backlink from a non related article, even if that article was on a high PR page.
Google are now extremely good at spotting unnatural backlinks and when they see lots of non related links pointing to a page (no matter how high PR they are), they know something is up with that site. It’s not that much about quantity any more, although I can’t say less is better, but about quality. Try to build links that are highly relevant, I know it’s not easy at all which is why I said I neither like SEO, nor do it. I would go for paid marketing all the time.
However being on page one of Google is still the name of the game online so here is what else works best – Gifographics (infographics that move like this one)!
Infographics are not played out, they just don’t work that well any more. Gifographics on the other hand are incredibly efficient and get lots of likes and shares which are gold for SEO. Not only are they gold for seo, but they get a lot of social traffic as well. Check out this gifographic on how a car engine works. According to one of the few blogs online I read it got 350 000 visitors in month time… this is just magic having in mind the site that published it doesn’t even have too many readers.
Now you know how it’s done, but there is another killer SEO technique that needs mentioning in this new school seo article…
what is it? In-depth articles
Google released an in-depth articles algorithm update due to which its search results now feature thorough content pieces.
what to do to rank in this section?
1 Write long articles somewhere around 3 000 words
2 Read Google’s guide to appearing in the “in-depth articles” section
A lot more could be done to outrank the competition and get tons of search traffic and you are welcome to read about at the SEO section where I have published a lot of awesome articles like this one.
