It’s been almost a week since I last published an article on here and kinda almost freaked out today LOL.
This is normal with bogging, don’t panic if you feel like this sometimes.
The most valuable lesson I could possibly give anyone about blogging (if they asked) would be to write often… as often as they can.
Each time I pass the third day, I start feeling guilty for abandoning my blog, I know it’s ridiculous, but it’s inevitable… it is when you want to run a killer blog. Some people take care of that by accepting guest posters, or paying for articles, yet I don’t do that.
I know you know me and my style and want to read certain type of articles and I’d never do anything to jeopardize our friendship (yes, we are friends, you reading my article is the same as us talking on the street, so nice to be friends 🙂 ).
Why am I telling you all this?
It’s not to fill the intro, like 99% of bloggers do, it’s because what I’m telling you right here is the science of blogging… the first thing you need to realize if you want to create a huge blog is you have to produce content as often as you can…. and that content needs to be written in your style.
Takes shit loads of time and work, tell me about it.
I almost forgot, before I move on I have to let you read the science of content marketing and the five awe-inspiring blogging tips, you will miss out a lot if you don’t, up to you though, I’ll tell you a lot with this article too.
Back to the science of blogging
You have to write often and have your own style. You have probably heard you have to write valuable content, no, you don’t…
…are you like whaaaaaat?
Don’t worry, I’ll tell you what I mean.
It’s not value what people seek, it is someone cool to follow, someone who will tell them how to become like them, someone who writes entertaining articles.
The word value has become a cliche, people use it cause they don’t know what to say, of course if you write about how your cat ate a whole bawl of cat food, no one will read your stuff (except a few cat maniacs LOL), but it’s not value that will make people read your blog, neither copying every other successful blog, it’s writing in your style.
I just read 99% of all blogs online are all the same, and I don’t know if that is a guess or not, but I know one thing: everybody who wants to run a blog follows the common rules:
1 write long articles
2 use lots of images
3 give value
4 bla bla bla
…and the end result is just another blog full of all the same content that can be found everywhere, and which is worst – written in all the style as everywhere…
…cause sometimes I don’t mind reading the same content if it is entertaining in different ways, but when it is like it came from the same author, it’s just ridiculous.
I can give you quite a few examples, but I’ll just tell you a guy even has a technique called the skyscraper technique (you probably already know who they are) where you search Google for already popular content, then change the title and rewrite a better article.
This is the stupidest thing I’ve heard… but you can try it and become the most boring blogger on Earth.
You will get some traffic with such techniques, but you will never create a tribe, you will just become the next marketer who makes 5 bucks a month (yes, that’s what these guys make even though they pretend to be rich and cool, I can again give you examples, but don’t want to offend anyone).
There are probably quite a few articles that mention what I’m telling you right here, but none of them is written like this one. You can read all of them, get bored, and still come to this one and get entertained.
That’s the secret of blogging – to develop a style, and this is not something you can think of, so don’t waste your time choosing your style, it is something you already have, it will show with time.
It took me about 2 years to start publishing entertaining articles, I was dead boring at the beginning LOL, you will be too, don’t worry, just write like you talk to your friends, use your own voice and you will create content that people want to read and share.
Let me know if you liked this article and stay awesome!
