Don’t you just love that pic?
I think it is hilarious.
I haven’t written a post in a while, cause I’ve been dead busy thinking so big my head started hurting LOL. (I have a weird sense of humor, I know)
This post might be a bit longer, as I have a lot of cool stuff to share with you and a true story about thinking big and kicking ass.
As you see I also try to write about things bigger than traffic (don’t tell me you think traffic is all there is). Traffic is the easy part of business, although I know you probably will not believe me.
It’s ok, I thought so too until I pimped the site for conversions.
Now one person makes me as much money as 100 used to, yep, that’s how vital converting traffic the right way is.
Read the blog to learn about traffic and how to get as much as you need…
…or even better – use the form to your right to see what I did to build two companies from scratch before 30.
There are things though that are way more important and they are exactly what separates gangstas from wannabes online.
What am I talking about?
Donald Trump once said:
“You think one way or another, so why think small then?”
Think big and kick ass!
By the way, if you haven’t read Donald Trump’s book yet, do it… it is awesome, he pretty much outlined how to grow a huge business and why it’s vital to play big in life.
Me, I’ll give you my story so you know what happens when you push hard no matter where you are and what you do.
How I started it
In 2003 I was 18 years old and had about 10 dollars on me, no, I will not tell you I made it with the ten bucks alone, cause it would be a huge lie.
Opposed to most articles out there, I’ll tell you business needs investing, a lot of investing most times.
The less money you have, the harder it would be to grow, read this article to see what I mean:
I was aware of that and the only chance for me to find money back then was heading to the US on a work and travel program to save some cash.
So I did it, I borrowed about 2,000 dollars to buy the program and a plane ticked, and headed to the US without knowing where I was going at all.
I ended up washing dishes at a seafood restaurant, not exactly a job that could help me save a lot of money. I did’t quit to get another job though.
What did I do?
Instead of feeling bad about it, I busted my ass working like it was my dream job.
You are probably like:
I feel you, but that’s what I did, cause I had to save money at all costs.
And then the hard work of course paid off big time, the kitchen manager came to me and asked to join him in the kitchen, as I was the guy he needed (wait for it.).
I did it and later on asked him to talk to somebody to make me a busboy if possible.
At that time the restaurant would never hire a non English speaker as a busboy just like that.
Anyway, they made me a busboy and that’s the moment I started saving up the big cash, at least big in my country.
I saved about 10,000 bucks in 3,5 months bussing tables as well as working as a deli clerk in the mornings, yeah buddy LOL.
When I got back, I had the cash to register my own company and had to figure out what to invest the money in.
It wasn’t that much, so I knew I had to think smart and not put it in something dumb, and by dumb I mean something that needed more than that.
But business takes a lot of branding, marketing, on top of that I needed to have a proven product so people would start buying it right away.
Additionally, I had to pay for rent… and you can imagine how far 10,000 would have gotten me if I had tried to build my own product or service and then market it and everything – that’s right, nowhere.
So what was the solution then?
A franchise – the only way to think big (back then) with 10,000 bucks for a startup.
A franchise provides an already working, marketed business system and a product everybody wants, at least the big franchises do.
So I bought a franchise and built my company to the point I had 3 fast foods, a security company and a work and travel agency, I did it in about two years.
That’s what I call kicking ass.
However, the recession in 2011 became so bad I had to close the company and lost everything.
That’s the first time I made a lot of cash and then lost it. I knew that was normal (entrepreneurship is no pie), so I did not quit, I did not feel bad, but redirected my business online instead.
2011 was probably the toughest year of my life, I did not have any money to invest, i did not have an idea how I would make money online, I had no idea about anything but one thing:
I had to think big, always!
And I did, instead of looking to make a buck, I started developing this blog first and made it the awesome business blog it is now.
It gets 100,000 visits/month.
I also have a few other businesses, but if you wanna know about them, you can read my book.
How did I do it?
Again, I used an already built, marketed and ready to use business system that was made to crush it… think of it like an online franchise.
They had built the product, shot the sales videos, put up the capture pages, done all the branding and I only had to sell.
I only invested a few thousand in it, started my gangsta marketing and I killed it again!
That’s what happens when you think big instead of looking to make a buck or two by searching something “secure”.
There are 3 things that are always the law for big results:
1 Big thinking
…no exceptions, which is why you have to use people’s systems when you are on a tight budget.
This is essential if you want to be huge, I’m not sure I can stress enough how vital this step is, I’ll repeat it:
If you have no money to invest, you have to use other people’s systems until you start making money to build your own such.
3 Think Big – again, that’s right… because that’s the only way to build a monster business.
Let me know if you liked the short version of my story, and if you want the slightly longer, and more fun version, you can read my book.
